About Tammy

I’m Tammy K. Bond — founder, cook, and creative behind Life Is Hard. Eat Well.
After decades in retail and brand work — from Gap and Old Navy to Starbucks and Boar’s Head — I learned that quality, consistency, and heart matter more than anything else.

But my real education came from life itself.
I’ve faced loss, trauma, and rebuilding from the ground up more times than I can count. Through all of it, food became my language of resilience.
Cooking brought me back to myself when nothing else could.

Every pinwheel, dip, and melted sandwich I make carries that message forward:
that joy can be rebuilt from scraps, that comfort can be handcrafted, and that care can be tasted.

Our Mission

To create American Fusion Comfort Food that nourishes both body and spirit — reminding people that flavor, like hope, can always return.

Our Vision

We believe in feeding connection as much as we feed people.
Our dream is to grow Life Is Hard. Eat Well. from a single food trailer into a community table — a space that uplifts local makers, creates meaningful work, and celebrates flavor as a form of love.

Because food isn’t just about taste.
It’s about belonging, healing, and the quiet magic of showing up for one another — one bite at a time.

Mad Hatter Alchemy

Our creative kitchen lab — Mad Hatter Alchemy — is where comfort gets curious.
It’s where the unexpected meets the familiar:
bourbon bacon fig melts, curry chicken pinwheels, smoky sunset dips, and whatever new madness Tammy dreams up next.

It’s playful, intentional, and just a little bit rebellious — a reminder that comfort food doesn’t have to stay inside the lines.
